Weddings at Grace
God has planned that a man and a woman may enter together into marriage, pledging their love and promising fidelity to each other, as long as both shall live.
The following are some Presbyterian understandings about marriage: Although marriage is a civil contract, when the ceremony is performed in the context of Christian worship, Jesus Christ blesses this relationship. It is declared holy throughout the life of the church, and those who pledge themselves to each other in the sight of God are promised His help in their future life together.
Grace requires both bride and groom to commit to spiritual growth during their engagement and will consult with the church’s Board of Elders during that time to determine readiness for marriage.
